Samuels Darnall and Associates Named as New Ad Agency

Gardena, CA, February 2001 - Cobra Kayaks is finding new ways to take their story to the masses by redefining their image with a new corporate logo, a series of simplified but targeted ad messages and the relaunch of their website, www.cobrakayaks.com. Capistrano Beach, California-based ad agency, Samuels Darnall and Associates (SDA) has been named as the company's advertising agency of choice. SDA's grasp of sports and youth culture inspired by twenty-five years on local beaches, lakes and mountains was a key factor in the decision.
The agency, headed up by owner/president and chief creative director Mark Samuels, was hired under the direction of Dan Mangus who joined Cobra Kayaks late last summer as Director of Sales and Marketing. "We were looking for new ways to reach the masses," stated Mangus. "We felt that SDA had the creative energy and ability to develop messages and visuals that could reach audiences of all ages, shapes and sizes."
Cobra Kayaks new logo is an integral part of the recently launched ad campaign and the re-launch of the company website. The site will be updated daily and is interactive and easy to navigate. "We intend to use the power of the web to take us to a new level," Mangus went on to say. The site also features an interactive photo contest.
Cobra Kayaks and Cobra Paddles are owned and distributed by GLENWA, Inc. in Gardena, California. The company, founded in 1993, is privately owned. Cobra Kayaks manufactures, markets and distributes a full line of sit-on-top kayaks, paddles and accessories. They offer a broad spectrum of products for all-around paddling to specialized niche markets such as fishing, diving, touring, surfing and racing. There are twelve Cobra Kayaks distributors worldwide including Hawaii. Cobra Kayaks and Cobra Paddles are registered trademarks.
