COBRA KAYAKSTM NAMED OFFICIAL SUPPLIER FOR SUBARU GORGE GAMES ADVENTURE RACE
Gardena, CA, June 2001 - Cobra Kayaks has been invited to be the official supplier of kayaks for the Subaru Gorge Games 24-Hour Adventure Race to be held July 21-22, 2001 in Hood River, Oregon. The Adventure Race is being managed by Michael Epstein Sports Productions and is sanctioned by USA Adventure Racing. It will be part of nine sports disciplines taking part in the Gorge Games. The Adventure Race itself will consist of mountaineering, trekking, mountain biking, climbing, navigation and rappelling as well as kayaking. Close to one hundred coed teams of three are expected to compete in a Cobra Triple, the first ever triple sit-on-top that is big, sturdy and stable enough to accommodate three adults paddling simultaneously. Representing the hottest from CobraÕs line of high performance kayaks, the Triple offers a capacity of eight hundred and fifty pounds, ample room for three adults and three hundred plus pounds of adventure racing gear. The Triple's V-Hull with its wide beam provides for excellent tracking and extra stability. The narrower bow and stern, coupled with clean hull lines, let paddlers slice through water quickly and smoothly. The combination of these design elements will help competitors shed waves and remain on a straight course as they compete for the gold.
