Gardena, CA, Winter 2001 – Cobra Kayaks introduced their complete line-up of sit-on-top kayaks for diving during the 2001 DEMA show held recently in New Orleans. Eight models cover the whole gamut of dive needs from hard core diving with heavy gear to afternoon snorkeling and picnicking and everything in between. Versatility describes the line that includes the Cobra Triple, Tandem and Fish N' Dive for more than one diver, Navigator, Explorer and Play for a wide range of heights and weights, Tourer for speed and T/A Traveler for mobility. Added value is an integral part of all the kayaks as they cross over from dive to fitness, touring or simple playing. All the company's kayaks except the Cobra TA Traveler are constructed of rotomolded Super Linear Polyethylene, the best plastic on the market for kayak construction, ensuring a lightweight, rugged and long lasting product that is easily repairable. Added UV protection helps prevent fading or degradation. The ultra smooth finish aids in reducing drag in the water and it is aesthetically shiny and pleasing. Cobra Kayaks produce their own innovative watertight hatches designed to fit the shape of each boat.
Sit-On-Tops That Accommodate More Than One Diver
The revolutionary Cobra Triple is the first ever sit-on-top that is big, sturdy and stable enough to accommodate three adults paddling simultaneously. Representing one of the hottest boats from Cobra Kayaks line of high performance kayaks, the Triple has a capacity of nine hundred pounds offering ample room for three "large" divers, all their heavy diving or long range fishing expedition gear and much more. It is also suitable for comfortable family paddling making it one of the most versatile boats in the line. The Triple’s V-Hull with its wide beam provides for excellent tracking and extra stability. The narrower bow and stern, coupled with clean hull lines, let paddlers slice through water quickly and smoothly.
